HP is a signatory to the Australian National Packaging Covenant (NPC) in Australia. The National Packaging Covenant is a five year voluntary commitment aimed at minimising the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging, conserve resources through better design and production processes and facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials. As part of this commitment HP has undertaken to voluntarily develop an action plan, commit to continuous development and pay annual contribution to packaging related environmental initiatives related to packaging reuse, reduction and recycling options. HP’s exceptional results in packaging environmental design and waste management have been recognised at the 2008 Australia Packaging Evolution Awards.
